Ahmad, the victim's highly admired and highly gifted foster son, has disappeared. Was he perhaps a witness to the crime? Or the perpetrator? The pressure is mounting rapidly, and the public is demanding swift explanations. Felix Voss and Paula Ringelhahn are leading the grueling investigation. But what are they dealing with? Shortly thereafter, a colleague from the fraud unit dies unexpectedly while driving from a fatal drug interaction. He leaves behind his wife and two children. For Paula, this news is catastrophic.
