PC Penrose's first day on the job bumps in to an expectant father desperate for help. Under the watchful eye of Sergeant Flagg, the pair go in search of the chicken killer.

P.C. Penrose and P.C. Buttress are the night shift with a peeping tom is on the loose. Penrose joins Sgt Flagg in dealing with the sudden death of Mr Newbold. Inspector Fox is determined to keep W.P.C. Dean as close as possible.

P.C. Buttress is besotted with a blonde friend of his wife. Sgt Flagg and P.C.Penrose go to a domestic where two women fight over who his is the legal wife. Inspector Fox's wandering eye causes a car crash.

W.P.C. Dean is livid the Inspector Fox is going to marry the Honorable Fanny. Flagg decides to take Penrose on a stake out at the White Horse Inn. They looking for a man who is pinching women's bottoms in the park.

P.C's Penrose and Buttress are trapped in a tree when a man starts harassing a group women while dressed in a leotard and sou'wester and riding a bike. Inspector Fox interviews a burglar while rehearsing a ballroom dance routine.

With Sergeant Flagg and P.C. Buttress at a function in Newcastle-Under-Lyme, P.C. Penrose in charge of Slagcaster station. Inspector Fox reinvents himself as Sherlock Holmes. Clogger brings in a drunk who needs help.

Sergeant Flack starts to take bets on who will be found guilty or innocent when the officers go to court to give evidence.
